commended and thanked for their allocation of many thousands of dollars for radiation treatment for patients who travel to the Cancer Institute of Guyana. The cost in Guyana is a tenth of that in Florida and the logistics are much simpler. We send our ladies in groups of three or four and they share a rented house that is in easy reach fo the Institute. Many thanks to the Ministry of Health who assist with accommodation costs. The donations received by the Cancer Society help to meet the cost of the fares and each patient does their own personal fundraising for their own costs. Over 45 women have now returned from Guyana with their whole lives ahead of them. Early intervention saves lives.
